On September 6, Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted successfully held the Orientation Day for middle schoolers through online platforms. Partaking in this event were the teachers from the Board of Directors & teachers in charge of the Team, the 9th grade’s counselors, and 163 6th graders of Ams.

Kicking off the 'Orientation Day: Proud Hanoi - Amsterdam' event, students enjoyed an exciting musical performance from the Cheer Ams Club, followed by the song "Words from a teacher", which was performed by the school's 17-21 generation arts team.

After that, teachers in the Board of Directors shared some words of encouragement and reassurance to the freshmen of Ams. Mrs. Tran Thuy Duong - the Party Committee Secretary/ School Principal introduces the essential core values of Hanoi - Amsterdam: 'Heart and Pride.’

Mrs. Duong Tu Anh and Mr. Bui Van Phuc - Vice Principal of the school gave a heartwarming speech filled with meaningful advice: "Upon starting a new level of education, or a new school environment, you will certainly experience lots of confusion and bewilderment. But be rest assured that teachers, along with older students, will always accompany you through each of your journey, help you understand the value of a warm greeting, a humble thank-you and even the right approach to facing difficulties and challenges.

Being an Amser, every 6th grader was given the school uniform - a symbolic set of objects that will follow them in their high school years. To help students understand more about the logo's meaning, and to inject students with pride whenever they wear that outfit, the Ams Ambassadors 2020 carried out an impressive 'School uniform show'.

Next, the children taught the school’s signature anthem "The Tradition of Hanoi - Amsterdam". After wrapping up the Orientation day, the students continued to explore further information regarding the school’s history/traditions online. This post-event activity was organized by teachers in Zoom meetings according to class units.

In the afternoon, the 6th grade had all got acquainted with the school's history, facilities, curriculum, and annual extracurricular activities introduced by 9th graders on the Zoom platform. This exchange partly helped them become more familiar with the school in which they will be resuming their education throughout the next 4 years, as well as mentally prepared them for a new journey ahead.

Although students could not attend the school normally like every year due to the pandemic, the 6th-grade Amsers must still have felt the enthusiasm and pride of being a member of this prestigious school.

Dear the new 21-24 generation of students, we hope that in the coming school years, you will continue to hone your knowledge, preserve as well as promote the good traditions of your dear home: the prestigious Hanoi - Amsterdam High School.
