At 10h30 in the morning of 13/7/2020, at 200 hall of Hanoi - Amsterdam High school for the Gifted, the 2019 - 2020 End-of-year Ceremony had been held solemnly, with the participation of all teachers and members of the school board. The ceremony started with huge good news for every teacher and student of Hanoi - Amsterdam High school for the Gifted as we welcomed the new principal. Mr Le Ngoc Quang, the Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Education and Training, on behalf of the Department’s director board, had read Hanoi People’s Committee’s decision about assigning Teacher Tran Thuy Duong to be Hanoi - Amsterdam High school for the Gifted’s principal. Speaking at the ceremony, Teacher Tran Thuy Duong said, for her, coming back to Hanoi - Amsterdam High school was like being able to return home, because Hanoi - Amsterdam brought back memories as a student 30 years ago for her. She also gave her greatest gratitudes to teachers and  former generations of the school board for their passion and dedication to build Hanoi - Amsterdam High school for the Gifted today.

Teacher Bui Van Phuc - Vice Principal of the school gave flowers to Teacher Tran Thuy Duong on behalf of the school board.

The ceremony was also time for the school board to look back at the past school year, a very special year that marked the continuous effort of Hanoi - Ams teachers and students, proudly gaining high achievements. On behalf of the school board, Teacher Bui Van Phuc, Vice Principal of the school, had read the end-of-year report of the past school year 2019 - 2020. In the INTENL ISEF Science and Engineering Fair, the school had 2 proposals competing in the City’s round, 1 proposal competing in the National round and gained first prize. In the National Competition for Excellent students, the school had 112 students be able to join the National round and the results are 13 first prizes, 32 second prizes, 28 third prizes and 18 consolation prizes. For Secondary School, in the past National Competition for Excellent students, the school had gained 20 first prizes, 39 second prizes, 27 third prizes and 18 consolation prizes, which was 104/122 prizes in total.

He also complimented achievements of teams and individuals joining international competitions on behalf of the school board: 1 Gold Medal at International Chemistry Olympiad; 1 Gold Medal at International Physics Olympiad; 1 Gold Medal at International Mathematical Olympiad. At the International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics, the Vietnamese team joined with 8 students and gained 1 Gold Medal with highest score, 3 Silver Medals, 3 Bronze Medals and 1 certificate. At the International Mathematics Competition in South Africa, the school also won 2 trophies, 1 Gold, 2 Silver team trophies, 4 Gold Medals, 5 Silver Medals, 1 consolation prizes individually. Meanwhile, at IMSO in Vietnam, the school’s team also gained 4 Gold Medals, in broad B among national teams, we gained 9 Gold Medals, 2 Silver Medals. Following the direction of Ministry of Education, Department of Education and Training, the school picked 5 students of grade 10 to join JSO in Qatar, gaining 3 Gold Medals, 2 Silver Medals. Those achievements had shown the power of knowledge, the infinite ability, effort and proud results of HN-Ams teachers and students.

Teacher Ho Quoc Viet and Teacher Nguyen Dinh Vinh - Vice Principal of the school, on behalf of the school board, complimented teachers who had exceptional achievements in educating.

2019 - 2020 End-of-year Ceremony had ended warmly, full of excitement as well as raised hope for the coming school year with even more successful achievements. Hope that all teachers and members of the school board will always be healthy and joyful.
