HANOI AMSTERDAM HIGH SCHOOL’S CLOSING CEREMONY OF SCHOOL YEAR 2021 - 2022

On the morning of May 23, 2022, Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted solemnly held a closing ceremony to honor student’s achievements for the 2021-2022 school year. Although the weather was not favorable, teachers and students wholly attended, keeping the ceremony solemn and dignified.

Attending the ceremony were teacher Tran Thuy Duong - Secretary of the Party Committee & School Principal, teacher Bui Van Phuc - Vice President of the School, Teacher Duong Tu Anh - Vice Principal of the School, Ms. Nguyen Hai Huong - Representative of the Parents and Teachers Association, teachers in the Education Council and all students of Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted.

Commencing the ceremony was an exciting performance by Cheer Ams, Cam Ca and student Ha Chi from 10 History class.

Next, after the solemn flag-raising ceremony, teacher Duong Tu Anh, on behalf of the Education Council of Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted, read a report on the resounding achievements of teachers and students throughout the last year. The result of the National Excelent Student Exam at city level: 339 city prizes including 50 First prizes, 100 Second prizes, 100 Third prizes, 89 Consolation prizes. The National Excelent Student Exam for specialized high schools in the coastal area & the Northern Delta: 2 Gold prizes, 8 Silver prizes for Computer Science; 1 second prize, 2 third prizes, 1 consolation prize and 3 students qualified for the National Exam for CS Junior. Participants of the International Science and Technology Competition brought home 2 first prizes at city level & 1 first prize and 1 third prize at national level. The 1st prize- winning team, which includes students Do Minh Quan - 10 Chemistry 1 and Nguyen Thien Luong - 10 Computer Science, were selected to participate in the international round. National Excelent Student Exam: the school team secured 77 prizes comprising 6 first prizes, 25 second prizes, 21 third prizes, and 25 consolation prizes.

Excelent Student Exam results in middle school level: Cau Giay district won 108 prizes with 13 first prizes, Hanoi won 18 first prizes, 36 second prizes, 16 third prizes and 17 consolation prizes. International competitions: IJSO International Youth Science Olympiad 2021 won 4 golds, 2 silvers; International Astronomy and Astrophysics Olympiad 2021 won 2 golds, 1 silver, 2 bronze medals; the Olympic competitors brought Ams 7 gold medals, 4 silver medals. In addition, the school also received certificates of merit in Union work. An example of this was set by 7 students who won the title of “3 stars student” at City level, and Do Hoang Quoc Bao - a 12 Math 1 student - who was honored to become the first student of Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted to be admitted to the Vietnamese Communist Party.

2021 - 2022 hasn’t been the smoothest-sailing school year on account of the pandemic, but teachers and students of Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted still brought home substantial accomplishments.
