Students from class 9A, Hanoi-Amsterdam High school for the gifted

Nguyen Thi Thu Minh, student from class 9A, Hanoi-Amsterdam High school for the gifted, has achieved the highest ranking in the admission area of Mathematics, Hanoi Department of Education and Training. She attained a total score of 47,5 (Math: 9.75; English: 9.75; Literature: 8.5; Specialized Maths: 9.75)

Prior to this accomplishment, Thu Minh has already achieved another highest ranking for the admission area of Physics, High School for the Gifted, Hanoi National University of Education with a total score of 37.5/40 (Specialized Physics: 10.0); and also High School for the gifted, National University of Science with a total score of 28/30 (Specialized Physics: 9.75)

Moreover, another the student from class 9A, Hanoi-Amsterdam High School for the gifted, Hoang Minh Hieu was the only candidate in Ha Noi who managed to attain a 10 for Specialized Maths, and became the valedictorian for the admission area of Mathematics, High School for the gifted of National University of Sciences. Besides, he was also the candidate with the 6th highest total score in the admission area of Mathematics, HIgh School for the gifted, Hanoi National University of Education.

In class 9A, Nguyen Quy Tu was another preeminent candidate in this entrance exam with a total score of 45.75 (Math: 10, English: 9.75; Literature: 8), and secured a place in the Mathematics class of Hanoi-Amsterdam High School for the gifted with an impressive 9.75 for specialized Mathematics.

Nguyen Tran Nguyen Ha

Although class 9A specializes in Mathematics, Nguyen Tran Nguyen Ha achieved the highest ranking for the admission area of Literature, Hanoi-Amsterdam High School for the gifted this year. Also, she successfully passed the test to the Literature class of High School for the Gifted, Hanoi National University of Education.

Ms Nguyen Thanh Binh, the form teacher of class 9A, could not help but express her exhilaration regarding her students’ accomplishments, attributing them to their restless assiduity and resilience. Despite the pandemic sprawling across a span of almost two years, these students made unparalleled efforts. All 53 students in the class, for Ms Binh, are 53 excellent individuals, possessing distinct talents, and shining brightly in distinct ways.

“In spite of their excellence, the students are always humble when it comes to their achievements. They never mentioned their accomplishments, but adopted a worry-free attitude to dedicate their all to studying. Class 9A specialized in Maths, but their form teacher is a Literature teacher, so the students always have an important, passionate companion by their side: Mr Cao Dung. He played an essential role in amassing these achievements today”, Ms Binh shared.

Hanoi-Amsterdam High school for the gifted’s  affiliated secondary school has a reputation for being the coalescing of excellent students with high scores in the entrance exam. In order to merely be considered, students need to attain a maximum of 10 for all subjects in Primary school, before sitting for a selection test with other equally talented pupils.

Class of 2018-2022, Hanoi Amsterdam High School for the gifted’s affiliated secondary school admitted a total of 200 students, divided into five different classes 9A, 9B, 9C, 9D and 9E. Class 9A has the high number of students of 53. Other 9th grade classes also witnessed stupendous rates of students entering high schools for the gifted. For instance, Vu Hoang Khanh Uyen from class 9B topped the chart for Hanoi 10th grade admission 2022, attaining a total score of 48,5 (Literature: 9.25, Math:10; English: 10.
