On the Monday morning of October 10th, 2022, amidst the cool autumn weather, teachers and students of Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted rejoiced in the 68th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital, re-igniting the flame of our glorious history with spectacular welcoming musical performances.

The Capital Liberation day on 10/10/1954 can be considered an indelible milestone in the heart of every citizen of the Hanoi city. It was an event of great significance, marking the completion of liberation of a place holding great historical and national significance. That event also created a solid foundation for the development of the city after the many ups and downs, bringing the thousand-year-old capital to an honorable position as the Capital of conscience and dignity, the City of peace, a civilized, modern city worthy of being the capital of a dynamic, constantly innovative and developing country.

Joining in the joyful atmosphere of the anniversary, teachers and students of Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted had a special celebration at the beginning of the weekly assembly. The opening part is an introduction and retelling of the liberation day from student Chu Hoa Bao Tram - 12 History (20-23).

The opening speech came from Amser Chu Hoa Bao Tram

Next, there were musical performances about significant historical events. Student Nguyen Ngoc Ha Chi - 11 History (21-24) and the dance group performed the song “Vietnam in my heart”.

Next was an ethnic instrumental performance of the song “Hanoi, Faith and Hope”, a very famous composition performed by the Cam Ca club.

Right after that, the Cheer Ams club livened up the atmosphere with an exciting modern dance performance.

Then, members of the Hanoi-Amsterdam Art club carried out a utterly poignant performance of the song “Hanoi’s twelve seasons of flowers”.

Concluding the ceremony was the song No.36 - a youthful and mesmerizing composition from Glee Ams.

This week’s weekly meeting with the theme of celebrating Capital Liberation Day 10/10 brought each and everyone  great pride. As a citizen of the capital, I sincerely hope that all students will always try their best to return all the sacrifices people in the past have made to contribute to the peace of modern days.
