Amsers’ Webinar: Technology trends, the global value chain and implications for undergraduate majors
On the morning of June 26th, 2021, the Executive Committee of Hanoi - Amsterdam Communist Youth Union and the Global Amsers Innovation and Entrepreneurship Network (GAEIN) collaborated with Hanoi - Amsterdam Organization to held a webinar for Amsers to exchange experience on the topic of undergraduate major selection as well as provide and update information related to technology trends and the global value chain.
Within 2 hours of the webinar, the students listened to Ams alumni sharing novel and practical content revolving around industrialization, modernization; notable jobs and majors to have a broader perspective of career orientation and one’s study route. In addition, with a team of speakers who are experienced in the field of entrepreneurship - innovation and have been successful in a number of large enterprises, participants also have the opportunity to have access to multi-dimensional thinking, dig deep into market changes as well as ignite a passion for innovation, self-reliance, and contribution to the economy - society in whatever majors they join.

The webinar focused on exploring the connection between knowledge and pragmatic examples to help the participants have a clear view and easily grasp important keywords. Not only providing and synthesizing macro-technology and industry-oriented concepts, but the speakers also tried to explain the causes, related fields combined with various approaches to floating data, language diagrams such as the Smiling Curve of Value, Digital Transformation Map, Ingredient to make 4.0 Industry, 4 future job groups, Ikigai perspective, employment rates of some occupational groups,...
Aside from the professional expertise and knowledge shared by the speakers, the webinar also allowed time for Amsers to discuss their queries regarding the central topic. This is also a good opportunity for them to pocket more skills for the success of their predecessors, and at the same time strengthen their perspective and be more certain about their choices and plans for the future, especially at the time when the National High School Exam is nearing.
