7C Volunteering Team with Mid – Autumn Festival Celebration and Present – Giving Activities
On September 30th, 2012, together with Hanoi Disabled Children Arts Club, a group of volunteers from Class 7C of Hanoi Amsterdam High School held a meaningful Mid – Autumn Festival for disadvantaged friends in the campus of Trung Tu Primary School. (Number 3, Lane 4A, Dang Van Ngu, Hanoi.)
Hanoi Disabled Children Arts Club, chaired by Ms. Phan Thi Phuc, was established in 1887 and now lies in the campus of Trung Tu Primary School – Number 3, Lane 4A, Dang Van Ngu. Over the last 18 years, this club has become a warm, familiar house for disadvantaged children. Being here enables them to study cultures, arts and achieve vocational training such as: sewing, civil electric, etc.
With the hope of bringing an amusingly happy Mid – Fall Tet to unlucky friends, we, the 7C volunteering group, participated in the celebration and gave beautiful gifts to friends at Hanoi Disabled Children Club.
Upon arrival, we felt astonished at our little friends’ preparation for Mid – Fall Festival in such a lively atmosphere. Observing them dressing beautifully in traditional costumes, enthusiastically rehearsing for their performances, we were overwhelmed with emotions.
We realize that there are still many children with misfortune around us, but they are admiringly brave, confident and energetic. We are luckier, so we should be more courageous and do good deeds for life. After joining the meaningful Mid – Autumn Festival with Hanoi Disabled Children Arts Club, each of us told ourselves to organize and take part in more practical and helpful social activities in the future.
